Role Overview
Our client, a leading upstream oil & gas operator, is seeking an experienced Facilities Manager to lead all surface facilities-related technical functions on site. This senior leadership position plays a pivotal role in managing engineering resources, optimizing field infrastructure, and aligning surface engineering objectives with overall production, safety, and project goals.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in upstream facilities engineering and a proven ability to lead and mentor multidisciplinary teams, with a particular focus on nationalization and long-term organizational sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic & Operational Leadership
Act as the technical leader for all surface-related facilities across the production site.
Define and implement long-term departmental vision and annual objectives aligned with site-wide business goals.
Lead the adoption of technologies and engineering tools that enhance productivity and asset performance.
Identify technical risks and opportunities, and present insights to senior stakeholders.
Organizational Management
Manage a diverse team of expatriate and national engineers, with a strong emphasis on building national workforce capacity.
Drive nationalization efforts, mentoring and developing local engineers with support from technical advisors.
Improve and implement work processes to enhance operational efficiency and deliver engineering excellence.
Functional Oversight
Oversee all core surface technical functions:
Facilities Surveillance and Troubleshooting
Opportunity Identification and Development
Integrity and Reliability Management
Measurement and Reporting Systems
Ensure engineering support is aligned with site-wide targets related to Safety, Production Volumes, and Project Delivery.
Candidate Profile
Required Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Petroleum, or equivalent).
15+ years of experience in upstream oil and gas surface facilities engineering.
Strong supervisory or management background in similar technical leadership roles.
