HR & Payroll Coordinator – Oil & Gas Sector | Kurdistan, Erbil

Our client, a leading Oil & Gas operator, is seeking an experienced HR & Payroll Coordinator to oversee and manage end-to-end payroll operations across a diverse workforce. This role plays a key part in ensuring compliance with local labor laws, tax regulations, and corporate governance, while providing efficient and employee-focused payroll services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure timely and accurate payroll processing for all staff, including monthly, rotational, and field-based employees.

  • Maintain employee master data in HRIS and payroll systems, ensuring data integrity and audit readiness.

  • Reconcile payroll data with timekeeping systems, contracts, and HR inputs; address and correct any discrepancies.

  • Manage statutory deductions, social security contributions, and tax reporting in line with local legal requirements.

  • Provide employee support on salary queries, deductions, tax issues, and benefits administration.

  • Generate payroll reports, including payroll cost summaries, leave balances, and financial analysis as required by HR or Finance.

  • Administer benefits programs, including insurance, allowances, and site-related entitlements.

  • Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to coordinate final settlements, transfers, and annual compensation reviews.

  • Maintain digital and physical personnel files in compliance with data protection and retention policies.

  • Liaise with external vendors, tax authorities, and government bodies on payroll matters and compliance filings.

  • Contribute to broader HR initiatives including employee engagement surveys, workforce analytics, and salary benchmarking.

Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Human Resources.

  • Minimum 5 years’ payroll experience, with a preference for candidates from the oil & gas or energy sector.

  • Proficient in local labor law, payroll tax, and statutory compliance.

  • Strong working knowledge of payroll and HRIS systems such as SAP, Oracle, or equivalent.

  • Excellent interpersonal and analytical skills, with a high level of confidentiality and attention to detail.
