Position Overview:
We are recruiting a Lead Renewable Energy Project Developer to represent a high-profile client through an agency partnership, focusing on advancing wind and solar energy projects across the Middle East. This role requires strategic oversight of project lifecycles from inception to financial close, emphasizing market expertise, stakeholder engagement, and risk mitigation. Key Responsibilities:
End-to-End Project Leadership: Spearhead development of wind and solar projects for a confidential client, ensuring alignment with regional market dynamics, technical feasibility, and financial viability.
Market Analysis & Site Acquisition: Conduct market research, site assessments, and feasibility studies to identify and prioritize project opportunities. Secure land leases, grid agreements, and permits in compliance with local regulations.
Stakeholder & Contract Negotiation: Negotiate power purchase agreements (PPAs), land rights, and grid access terms. Build partnerships with government bodies, utilities, and local communities to foster project acceptance.
Risk & Financial Management: Mitigate technical, environmental, and regulatory risks. Oversee project budgets, timelines, and resource allocation while aligning with client financial objectives (debt/equity structures).
Regulatory Compliance: Stay ahead of evolving policies, incentives, and technological trends in the Middle Eastern renewable energy sector. Ensure projects adhere to regional standards and sustainability goals.
Industry Representation: Advocate for the client’s interests at conferences, networking events, and stakeholder forums to enhance market visibility and partnerships.
Process Optimization: Refine project development methodologies to improve efficiency, scalability, and client ROI.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Finance, or related field. Advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., PMP, CFA) are a plus.
Experience:
8+ years in renewable energy project development, with a focus on wind and solar in the Middle East.
Proven track record in securing permits, PPAs, and financial close for utility-scale projects.
Proficiency in project finance, including familiarity with tax equity, debt structuring, and investor due diligence.
Knowledge of GIS tools, energy yield assessments, and regulatory frameworks (e.g., Saudi Vision 2030, UAE Energy Strategy).
Exceptional negotiation, communication, and cross-cultural relationship-building abilities.
