Our client, a leading engineering consultancy, is seeking a Senior Maintenance Engineer to lead asset maintenance operations and deliver technical excellence across complex engineering projects. This role is critical in managing technical documentation, developing CMMS systems, asset registers, and maintenance plans. You will also mentor junior engineers and ensure all project outcomes meet industry standards and client expectations.
Key Responsibilities
Project Technical Documentation
Oversee the creation, review, and approval of all project-related technical documentation.
Ensure documentation accuracy, consistency, and alignment with industry standards.
Support junior engineers in maintaining documentation integrity across projects.
Asset Register Management
Lead the development and maintenance of project asset registers.
Ensure data accuracy, traceability, and compliance with client specifications.
Guide junior staff in asset identification, classification, and tracking.
CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems)
Design and implement tailored CMMS templates for project-specific needs.
Ensure effective integration of CMMS in ongoing maintenance operations.
Coach team members on CMMS best practices and customizations.
Maintenance & Workload Planning
Develop detailed maintenance strategies and work plans.
Optimize workforce allocation and resource planning to meet project goals.
Align maintenance activities with client operational objectives.
Software & Technical Tools Utilization
Leverage mechanical handling tools including AutoCAD, Navisworks, and SmartPlant, along with MS Office, for design, planning, and analysis.
Promote the use of technology across the team and ensure staff proficiency.
Leadership & Mentorship
Provide hands-on leadership, guidance, and technical mentorship to junior engineers.
Foster a knowledge-sharing environment and continuous learning culture.
Act as a subject matter expert and first point of contact for asset maintenance queries.
Candidate Profile
Qualifications & Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Materials Engineering
10+ years’ experience in asset maintenance engineering, ideally in an engineering consultancy environment
Technical Competencies:
Proficient in AutoCAD, Navisworks, SmartPlant, and MS Office Suite
Deep understanding of asset lifecycle, preventative maintenance, and industry compliance standards
Strong technical documentation, planning, and analytical skills
